Recipe 03 / Announcements

New-product announcementfor Shopify.

Something new to show. No discount needed.

A new collection can be worth a visit on its own. Give shoppers one useful reason to explore it, with a small announcement that does not promise a saving you do not offer.

JUST LANDED

A fresh chapter for your everyday.

Meet the new collection: thoughtful pieces, ready for a closer look.

Explore the collection for details and availability.

Illustrative preview—not a screenshot or one-click template. No coupon needed. Mobile mode narrows the example; test your real theme too.

01 / The right moment

Start with a reason to show it.

A good fit when…

A product or collection is published and homepage visitors need a clear route to it.

Choose another approach when…

You need a waitlist, preorder or signup flow. This is an announcement and link, not subscriber capture.

02 / Make it yours

Copy you can work with.

Replace the example offer, product language and destination with your own. You can also select and copy the text below.

03 / Display with intention

A starting point for your rules.

These are test settings—not a promise of the best conversion rate. Select your own campaign dates and check them in your store’s timezone.

04 / Build in Prime

Recreate the example, step by step.

Open Prime from Shopify, create a message popup and choose a suitable starting template. The library does not import a campaign into your store.

  1. Publish the destination first

Check the product or collection is public and ready. Replace /collections/new-arrivals with the correct storefront-relative path.

  2. Explain what is new

Add an eyebrow, heading, short paragraph and button. Remove the coupon block. Replace the general product language with a specific, accurate reason to explore your launch.

  3. Wait for some browsing

Target the homepage and start at 35% scroll. Use All qualified visitors, returning-only off and zero activity thresholds. Short homepages may need a delay instead.

  4. Keep the announcement current

Start with a seven-day repeat interval. Set a review date so an old collection does not keep being presented as new.

Preview desktop and mobile, save your changes and review the published version. Enable Prime’s theme app embed on the current theme before testing the storefront. A saved draft alone is not a live popup.

05 / Before you publish

Check the journey, not just the design.

  • Open the destination directly and confirm it is public and useful.
  • Reach the homepage threshold and test the button destination.
  • Check the no-coupon layout on a phone with your real product copy.
  • Review or retire the message when the collection is no longer new.

Use an eligible, consented test context. Keep the close control reachable, check the button destination and verify the experience on your real theme. See the mobile checklist if text or controls do not fit.

06 / Learn from the message

Test the reason to explore

Compare a descriptive collection headline with an accurate use-case headline. Keep the destination and rules unchanged.

Review engagement and the destination experience. The popup alone does not prove product demand.

Use A/B variants to compare one change at a time. These examples do not include claimed conversion results.

Decide what success means before you test.

Start with the next step this message asks for: a click through to the collection. Compare CTA clicks against popup deliveries for the same eligible audience and period. Keep test visits separate. A handful of clicks is not enough to name a winner.

A clicked button or copied coupon is not a completed order. Check discount usage and orders separately in Shopify where available; shared codes do not identify which popup caused a sale. Comparing two messages also does not prove either beats showing no popup.

Keep the shopper in control.

Make the close button easy to reach and test repeat limits, mobile layouts and both consent choices. Do not cover the content as soon as a search visitor arrives. A delay alone does not guarantee a good experience or protect search rankings.

Useful details

Before you choose this recipe.

Can I use a popup without a discount?

Yes. This announcement uses text and a button to an existing collection. No coupon is needed.

Does it collect launch subscribers?

No. This is an announcement, not an email form or waitlist.

Will this work without analytics consent?

Do not assume it will. Prime’s delivery and activity-based rules depend on the available consented context. Verify the outcome with both consent choices; never bypass a shopper’s choice to make a campaign appear.
